Our community and youth ministry seeks to serve the low income and homeless in our community that have not come into our shelter.
We seek to minister to this population through various outreach events such as our Family Christmas Party and gift giveaway, which we serve about 350 families and nearly 1,000 children, our community Easter Egg Hunt and our summer day camp.
We have an after care program to continue ministering to families after they have left the Mission. We intend to continue our case management in an effort to further assist the transition from shelter living to independent living in areas of budgeting, parenting, and time management as well as continued spiritual growth and church involvement.
The goal of our Community and Youth ministry is to minister to those in our community who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless before they show up at our shelter as well as following up with those who have recently left. We believe that if we can reach people earlier in their crisis and walk with them as they ease back into independent living then we can help them overcome the cycle of homelessness more efficiently.
